Final Update

Runners,

Here we are at race week! I think I have gone over most everything in previous updates, so I will keep this one short with a simple reminder of this weekend's schedule. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or email me day or night (I will probably be up putting the finishing touches on awards, stuffing goodie bags, and devising ways to dump more rock and cactus spines on the trail).

When you get to the town of Fountain Hills, follow signs for McDowell Mountain Park. I will also be placing a few Javelina Jundred signs along the route if you are coming from highway 87 from Phoenix. The first sign will be right before the turnoff to Shea Blvd. After turning left on to Shea, Saguaro should be the next light. Turn right, following Saguaro for several winding miles until it ends at Fountain Hills Blvd. Turn right and follow 4 miles to the park entrance. The Pemberton Trailhead is a 5 to 10 minute drive once you are in the park.

Friday, November 14th
7am - Race Organization will arrive at Javelina Jeadquarters
12pm - Kachina Rescue will arrive at Javelina Jeadquarters
4pm - Packet pickup begins
5pm - Pre-race dinner & race briefing
7pm - Dinner ends

Saturday, November 15th
4:15am - Kachina Rescue begins foot taping (first come/first serve)
4:30am - Packet pickup resumes
5:45am - All runners must be checked in
6am - Race start
11am - Sub sandwiches arrive at Javelina Jeadquarters
4pm - Pizza arrives at Javelina Jeadquarters
8pm - Burgers are available through the night

Sunday, November 16th
10am - Six loop cutoff
12pm - 100 mile cutoff, race ends
